Lilyford awarded by Midhurst Town Council
It was an honour to receive an award from the Midhurst Town Council acknowledging the contribution that Lilyford had made to the Midhurst community. Lilyford founders Maurice Ormerod and Charley Law both live in Midhurst, so to receive such an award from their home town was particularly significant.
We were really pleased that our efforts to engage with the community had been recognised, as strong local connections are important to us wherever we are working. We started by hosting coffee mornings to get to know the local community’s thoughts about the site. We also wanted to truly understand what our target market wanted and needed from a downsizer home, and the evidence of these meetings can be seen throughout the build, design and service at Lilyford. Local, independent business are part of what makes Midhurst such a thriving town, and so we used local suppliers and companies wherever possible.
Our focus was on designing a building which complimented and blended into the local architecture, enhancing the southern end of Midhurst for years to come. Design influences from around the town can be seen throughout; quoining elements, Georgian-influences, and traditional window styles. It is fantastic to hear that through working closely with the Town Council and local Planning Authority we have achieved this.
We love hearing what the local community thinks about our developments, so do please get in touch with us to share your thoughts. We are open 9am to 5pm on weekdays, if you would like to pop by for a tour, discover the interiors by Studio Denim, and meet our brilliant House Manager Nicola.
