About Lilyford

Lilyford are an award winning privately-owned residential property development firm based in Petersfield, Hampshire. We build stand out, remarkable homes, in the South of England.

Our Track Record

Lilyford was founded in 2014 by Maurice Ormerod and Charley Law, as the latest chapter for a team that have over 15 years’ experience building high-spec homes. As local Sussex residents for many years, we know the county, and surrounding areas personally, and have the access and connections to acquire the most sought-after sites and locations. We have particular experience with working alongside local planning councils in beautiful and sensitive areas like the South Downs National Park.

Retirement done differently

Our ambition was always to create impressive and stylish homes that are future proofed for independent living in later life. A fresh new approach that offers a more fully-realised lifestyle.

We specialise in concepting and designing aspirational 1-2-bedroom apartments, ideally suited to downsizers looking for a sense of community, security and peace of mind in highly desirable locations, close to dynamic town centres.

All our developments have easy access to key amenities such as supermarkets, doctors’ surgeries, local shops, parks and ample transport links.

Our end to end, hands on project management means everything is overseen in-house; land acquisition, planning and design, construction, sales and ongoing support. We don’t think of ourselves as just developers, as we’re creating a lifestyle brand that provides ongoing value. It’s a reputation we’re proud of.

The Lilyford Team

Our brand, and innovative take on new concepts and experiences are extremely important to us. It’s what we want our team to believe in, and our residents to feel proud to be part of.

Maurice Ormerod

Founder & MD

Maurice, working in the development of new homes since he left school, has lived in Midhurst with his young family for most of his life. Passionate about innovation, and creating new and interesting concepts, he never wanted to ‘just build houses’ or work for a corporation. Maurice always had his heart set on concepting something more ambitious and noteworthy. Driven by a fastidious attention to detail, and visionary approach to creativity, he set out to create a brand built on integrity, a solid work ethic, and the importance of family. These are the threads that run through the company and, in turn, the homes the company builds. Maurice views investing in people and local communities as one of Lilyford’s founding principles, as well as creating real value, and always going the extra mile.

Charley Law

Founder & Director

Charley, who grew up in West Sussex, worked in the City for most of his career before helping Maurice launch Lilyford in 2014. As a non-executive director, he helps support the business and shape the vision of the company as it looks to the future. Charley’s role is especially focused on building and nurturing communities, and creating ongoing value for all Lilyford residents. By focussing on ways to be innovative, always treating people with respect, and constantly striving for excellence, Charley believes more benefits can be provided to those that purchase Lilyford homes than are available anywhere else.

Sam Tay

Head of Land

After studying Property Management and Investment, Sam worked for a national property consultancy firm prior to joining Lilyford Homes in July 2017 as Land and Development Manager. With extensive experience managing large scale commercial assets and property portfolios on behalf of both private clients and institutional investors, Sam brings a wealth of corporate expertise, and a proven commercial approach to all Lilyford’s land acquisition and development projects. Thorough and conscientious, he’s ideally suited to evolving our management processes, and continually improving on the company’s due diligence and appraisal procedures. Sam enjoys visiting all of the wonderful towns in our operating area, and is excited at the prospect of building local, unique and distinctive developments that enhance residents’ lives.

Sophie Gardner

Head of Sales and Marketing

Having completed an International Business and Marketing Degree at The Royal Agricultural College, Sophie went on to work in London. For ten years Sophie worked as a discreet and professional Executive Assistant and Event Organiser for female leaders of family run or self-founded Global Luxury Brands. Now at Lilyford, Sophie prides herself on building strong relationships with her clients and understanding exactly what they require. From initial conversations through to completion, she ensures that the purchasing process is clear and straightforward. Sophie is particularly passionate about the unique towns we are building in and the communities we are creating at Lilyford.

Grant Wilson

Head of Construction

With 30 years in the housebuilding industry, Grant has decades of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager for both national and local housebuilders. Steering and overseeing projects from one off luxury houses to large 200+ unit estates, he’s managed the construction of a number of prestige retirement developments across the South East, and in the process, gained invaluable knowledge of all aspects of building construction. Inspired by residential projects that deliver impeccable quality and excellent value for money, Grant is thrilled to be part of a team focussed on developing lifestyle-led homes that are exceptional, new and different.

Tilly Fitzwilliams

Working as part of the land and planning team to achieve successful planning outcomes, Tilly has a strong interest in the public consultation process and sustainable urban design. She is enjoying working on regenerating brownfield sites and projects that deliver positive results for both owners and local communities.
