Speak to our team:

It’s not just people who love the Lilyford lifestyle

Lilyford recognise the huge health benefits associated with pet ownership. Pets help us to stay happy and positive, contributing to better mental health, as well as encouraging us to get active. Walking is a great form of exercise, strengthening your muscles and improving flexibility.

Fresh air is also enormously important for mental wellbeing, and with the countryside of the South Downs on your doorstep, it is readily available for all. Reconnecting with nature is easy with both farmland and National Park land bursting with wildlife, and beautiful in every season.

We encourage animals at Dundee House, though we do ask that owners observe a few simple rules for the happiness of all apartment owners, such as signing a Pet Agreement with the House Manager, who will also meet your pet before moving in to ensure that they are suitable for apartment living. We also ask that dogs are kept on leads when in communal areas.

We currently have three shih tzus living at Dundee House, all of whom have happily adjusted to their new homes and are loving the attention they get from our House Manager and other residents. Another owner is looking into rehoming a dog, having worked with animals throughout her life.

Dundee House is well located with a huge array of dog walks, and pets are encouraged. From the Cowdray Estate to Ambersham Common, there are open, level walks or more varied, woodland hikes. The many pet shops in Midhurst ensure that every diet and grooming need is catered for.

Animals are brilliant at providing companionship, which is essential throughout our lives. Studies have shown the impact that this can have on mental health, which often directly contributes to physical health. They help to reduce loneliness, and reduce stress, and dogs in particular can be a great way to meet new people.

The House Manager is happy to help arrange for dog walkers or cat sitters when owners are away, and can share all the best walks in the local area. If you have any questions about whether your pet would fit in well at one of our developments, just give us a call to have a chat about it!
