What’s On in Yateley: Your Events Guide for Autumn and Winter 2026
Last updated 14 October 2026. We refresh this guide every season.
Yateley has a packed calendar this autumn and winter. The highlights are the Lions Fireworks Fiesta on Saturday 7 November, Remembrance Sunday on 8 November, and the Yateley Christmas Market and lights switch-on on Saturday 28 November.
There’s good reason the town feels busy. In September, Yateley was named joint Hampshire & Isle of Wight Village of the Year 2026, with judges praising the range of activities and community groups across the town.
This guide pulls those events together in one place, month by month. We’ve checked every date against the organiser’s own listing and linked to it, so you can confirm details before you go. Where a date or time hasn’t been announced yet, we’ve said so.

Yateley events in October 2026
The rest of October has a couple of dates worth knowing, and it’s a good time to plan ahead for November.
Book fireworks tickets early (until 31 October)
Early bird tickets for the Yateley Fireworks Fiesta are on sale until the end of October, at £5 for adults and £2 for children aged 4 to 16. Prices rise in November, and the Lions warn that tickets may not be available on the gate, so it pays to book now. Book through Yateley & District Lions.
Community Climate Forum, Monday 26 October
Yateley Town Council runs a regular Community Climate Forum for residents who want a say in local green projects. The time and venue are still to be confirmed, so check the council’s community calendar nearer the date.
Open house at Gayton House with the Daisy Chain Café, Thursday 29 October
We’re opening the doors at Gayton House from 4pm to 7pm for an informal open house, with drinks and light refreshments for everyone. Anyone is welcome, so feel free to bring friends and family.
Our guest speaker is from the Daisy Chain Café, a local charity that runs a free weekly café for people living with dementia or memory loss, along with their families and carers. Run by trained volunteers, it meets on Monday afternoons at the Darby Green Centre. Hear more about the café and its work in a short talk at around 5pm. We’ll be collecting donations for the café on the day.
There’s a large car park behind Gayton House, with access from Vicarage Road. The postcode is GU46 7QS.

Remembrance Sunday, 8 November
Yateley marks Remembrance Sunday with church services, a parade and wreath laying at the War Memorial, organised with the Royal British Legion. Times for 2026 haven’t been published yet.
As a guide, last year began with a 10am service at St Barnabas, then a 2.30pm service at St Swithun’s, a parade to the War Memorial at around 3.10pm, and the Act of Remembrance at around 3.30pm. Expect a similar pattern and check the council page before setting off.
Yateley Repair Cafe, Saturday 14 November
Bring a broken lamp, a wobbly chair or a tired toaster and volunteers will try to fix it. The Repair Cafe runs from 10am to 1pm at the community hub at Yateley Industries (reception at the rear), with the last repair starting at noon.
Frogmore Christmas lights switch-on, Friday 27 November
The festive season starts in Frogmore, with local schools, St Barnabas Church, Spring Pre-school and Girlguiding joining the Town Council to light the tree on St Barnabas Green. Timings are to be confirmed on the community calendar.
Yateley Christmas Market and lights switch-on, Saturday 28 November
The biggest date of the season. The Yateley Lions and Yateley Town Council bring stalls, entertainment and the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights, which include the tree and lit trees on Church End Green and around 30 illuminated motifs along Reading Road.
Times and the stall line-up are still to be announced. We’ll update this guide as soon as they are, or you can check the community calendar.

Yateley events in December 2026
December in Yateley is about carols, the lights and getting together before the year ends.
Mayor’s Christmas Carolling (date to be confirmed)
Each year the Town Mayor and councillors tour Yateley’s pubs singing carols, collecting for the Mayor’s chosen charities. Last year’s collection supported Vision 4 Youth, Daisy Chain Cafe and Cornerstone Counselling, with donations taken on the night or online. The 2026 date and route will appear on the council’s carolling page.
Yateley Repair Cafe, Saturday 12 December
The last Repair Cafe of the year runs from 10am to 1pm at Yateley Industries. It’s a good chance to rescue fairy lights and decorations before the big day.
Christmas lunches and festive menus
Several of Yateley’s pubs, including the White Lion, take bookings for Christmas parties and festive menus, and the best December dates go early. Book by mid November for weekend tables.
Good to know
Yateley Town Council’s office closes from noon on Thursday 24 December and reopens at 9am on Monday 4 January 2027.
Regular events in Yateley every week
The big dates are only part of it. Much of Yateley’s social life happens week in, week out, and most of it is free.
| When | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Mondays | Craft and Natter | Yateley Library |
| Tuesdays | Scrabble Club | Yateley Library |
| Wednesdays, from 10.30am | Hart Health Walks | Start at St Peter’s Church |

Health walks from St Peter’s
Hart Health Walks are short, sociable walks led by trained volunteers. They’re a gentle way to stay active and meet people, and Hart Voluntary Action can tell you how to join your first one.
Chatty Cafe
The Chatty Cafe scheme is simple: a table set aside for anyone happy to talk. It’s a relaxed way to meet neighbours, whether you’re new to Yateley or have lived here for decades.
Yateley & District u3a
If you’ve retired or work part time, the Yateley & District u3a is worth a look. It’s a members-run charity with interest groups covering learning, social activities and sport, and new members are welcome.
Pub quizzes and live music
The Dog & Partridge on Yateley Green has hosted a monthly quiz on a Tuesday, live music on Saturdays and a monthly open mic night, according to CAMRA’s Surrey & Hants Borders branch. Check with the pub for current dates. The White Lion on Reading Road also runs quiz nights.
Clubs worth knowing
Yateley also has a bowls club, a bridge club and walking football, which suits anyone who wants to keep playing without the tackles. Contact the clubs directly for session times and taster days.

The May Fayre is one of the town’s biggest traditions, with arena acts, a fun dog show, classic cars, a car boot sale and old-fashioned sack and egg-and-spoon races. Cask & Cork is a two-evening beer, cider and wine festival with live music, run as a community project for a local good cause.
